Parsi Dal is a plain dal dish. It is marked by use of garlic. Though the Parsi Dal is quite mild yet packed with lots of garlic and if you are a garlic lover, it’s the Dal for you. Ingredients for making Parsi Daal
- 1 cup Split Red Lentil (Masoor Dal)
- 3-4 cup water
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- A pinch of Turmeric Powder
- 2 chopped Green Chilli
- 2 flakes chopped Garlic
- 2 tbsp Clarified Butter (Ghee)
- 1 tbsp chopped Coriander Leaves
- Salt to taste
Method to prepare parsi dal
- Clean and wash the daal.
- Add daal, water, turmeric powder and salt in a pressure cooker and Pressure cook all the material for 2 whistles. And then simmer the flame for 10 minutes. Then remove from the flame.
- Mash the dal with a wooden spoon. Keep aside in a pan.
- Heat the Clarified Butter in a pan,add the cumin seeds, garlic, salt, green chillies in it. Fry for a minute over a low flame and pour over the dal.
- Again cook the daal for 2 minutes. Remove from the flame.
- Garnished parsi daal with the corriander leaves.
- Serve hot with plain rice/jeera rice or chapattis.
