Tamatar ka Shorba Recipe
Tamatar ka Shorba or tomato soup is quite popular in almost all Indian households. Tamatar ka Shorba is quite popular during winter months in north India. Tamatar ka Shorba is very yummy in taste and can be easily prepared. This recipe takes you through the process of making Tamatar ka Shorba soup.
Ingredients for tamatar ka Shorba
• 600 gms. Tomatoes
• 2 no. Bay leaf
• 1 tbsp. Chopped garlic
• 1 tbsp. Chopped ginger
• 1 tsp. Cumin seeds
• 1 tbsp. Whole garam masala
• 1 tbsp. Chopped green coriander
• 2 no. Green chili
• 1 tbsp. Sugar (optional)
• 1 tbsp. Oil
• As per taste Salt
Method to prepare tamatar ka Shorba
1. First of all wash the tomatoes and cut them into 4 parts.
2. Heat oil in a pan and cook tomatoes along with chopped ginger, garlic, green chilies and whole Garam Masala.
3. Now add bay leaf and 5 cups of water. Bring to a boil.
4. Cook it on a low flame for 20 minutes until tomatoes are mashed completely.
5. Strain the mixture with a soup strainer. Keep it aside.
6. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, let those splutters, and add above prepared tomato liquid and season with salt.
7. Bring it to a boil, add sugar if it is very sour.
8. Garnished it with chopped green coriander leaves.
9. Tamatar ka shorba is ready. Serve it hot.
