Dal Shorba Recipe
Dal shorba is a delicious and nutritious dish that draws its flavor from a combination of spices, herbs and vegetables. Dal shorba is usually served as an appetizer but can be had as one- course meal or as a snack. Follow this easy Daal shorba recipe to prepare a highly nutritious and appetizer Dall Shorba.
Ingredients for dal shorba
• 4 Eggs (hard boiled)
• 1 onion
• 1/2 tomato (pureed)
• 1/2-inch piece of ginger
• 1-2 green chilies
• 3-4 flakes of garlic
• Red chili powder to taste
• 3/4th tsp turmeric powder
• 1/2 tsp coriander powder
• 3/4tsp garam masala
• 2-3 tbsp vegetable oil / ghee
• 1 cup green peas or 250 gms paneer
• 2tbsp chopped coriander leaves
• Salt to taste
Method to prepare Daal shorba
1. Cut the paneer into cubes and fry them, till they get golden brown in color,
2. Remove the shell of boiled eggs and keep them for later use.
3. Now with the help of a chopper or mixer, make a paste of garlic, ginger, onion and green chilies. Heat oil in a karai/wok and add the above paste in it and fry, then add salt, turmeric, coriander & chili powder
4. Add tomato puree in it and Fry till it starts leaving oil.
5. Now add a cup of water and cook till it dry.
6. Add the fried paneer pieces and boiled eggs.
7. Again add 1 cup water and bring to boil, and then simmer for 10 minutes.
8. Garnish daal shorba with coriander leaves.
