Dahi Wale Aloo Recipe
Dahi Wale Aaloo is a hot favourite among the North Indians. It is one of those dishes that can be made at a short time. Aalu Dahi wale is also relished by Indians living outside their homeland. We have given an esay aaloo dahi wale recipe to help you cook you favourite dish.
Ingredients for Aaloo Dahi Wale
• 500gm aloo (potatoes) boiled and peeled
• 1 tbsp ginger-finely sliced
• a pinch asafoetida
• 1 tsp cumin seeds
• 1/2 tsp garam masala
• 2 tsp coriander powder
• 1/2 tsp chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
• 1/2 cup yogurt (curd)
• 3-4 green chillies
• 2 tbsp clarified butter
• 1 tbsp coriander leaves-chopped
• 2 tsp salt
Method to prepare Dahi Wale Aloo
1. Break the potatoes, by holding them one by one in the palm of your hand closing the fist and keep them aside.
2. Now heat the oil, add asafetida and cumin seeds and wait till the cumin splutters, and thereafter add ginger and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
3. Lower the flame, add yogurt 1 tbsp at a time, and stir vigorously until all the material gets smoothly blended.
4. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, chilli powder and garam masala, stir the mixture and then add boiled (broken) potatoes and green chilies, sauté it over high flame till it gets slightly fried.
5. Add 2 cup water, bring the mixture to a boil, and then simmer uncovered for about fifteen minutes.
6. Garnish aloo dahi wale with coriander leaves. Serve aloo dahi wale hot.
