Poha Chivda Recipe- How to Make Poha Chivda
Chivda/Chewda also known as poha is a nutritious snack prepared from beaten rice. For all those who are fond of poha and find it difficult to prepare, have an easy solution. We provide you with steps to prepare poha/Chivda easily. Follow the steps carefully and prepare Poha Chivda.
Ingredients :
• ½ kg beaten rice
• 15 cashewnuts,halfed
• 1 pav peanuts
• 1 cup copra shredding
• 2 tsp mustard seeds
• ¼ pav roasted Bengal gram
• 4 sprigs curry leaves,chopped
• 4 tsp salt
• 4 tsp chilli powder
• oil for frying
• 1 tsp haldi powder
• ½ tsp asafoetida powder
How To Prepare Chewda/Poha:
1. To prepare chedwa first take copra and slice it to cut it into fine shreds.
2. Now take the peanuts and roast them a little and remove their skin.Now take a bowl and mix asafetida, salt, chilli and haldi powder in it.
3. Take a pan and heat oil in it. Divide the beaten rice in 5-6 parts and when the oil is hot add one part of beaten rice in it and cook it on moderate flame.
4. Now remove that part from flame and transfer it to a basin. Add 2 tsp of the powder prepared earlier. Repeat the process with every part of beaten rice. Keep tilting the basin to and fro for several times.
5. Now take the little oil that is left in the frying and prepare a seasoning with mustard, chopped curry leaves, copra shreddings, peanuts, cashewnut bits and roasted Bengal gram all in the same sequence.
6. Now add the beaten rice in it and mix thorougly. Cook for 2 minutes.
7. Garnish with coriander leaves. Chewda/Poha is ready to be served.
