Kashmiri Dum Aloo Recipe
Kashmiri Dum Aloo is a truly awesome vegetarian potato dish. Kashmiri Dum Aloo is complete dish in itself. Here is an easy Kashmiri dam alu recipe to help you prepare the delicious and mouth watering dish.
Ingredients for making Kashmiri Dum Aloo:
• 5 potatoes
• 2 tsp saunf powder
• 2 tsp deghi mirch
• 2 to 3 lavang(long)
• ½ tsp sund powder
• ½ tsp garam masala
• 2 badi elaichi
• Salt to taste
• 1 small stick dalchini
• 1 choti elaichi
• Oil
How To Prepare Kahmiri Dum Aloo:
1. Take a pressure cooker and boil potatoes in it. Peel them and leave them to cool at room temperature.
2. With the help of a fork, make small holes in boiled potatoes from all sides.
3. Deep fry potatoes in heated oil on a low flame so that they get fried from inside also.
4. When potatoes become red and are still in oil, sprinkle hand full of water over these.
5. Dry them in a dry dish. Take another pan that has a lid and put oil in it for cooking.
6. When the oil becomes hot, add dalchini, badi elaichi and long. Fry till there is a sweet aroma.
7. Cook till it is done and add degi mirach. Add a mug of water as soon as you put degi mirch else the curry will become black.
8. Add the remaining masala now in the curry and bring it to boil. Cook for 5 minutes.
9. Now put the fried potatoes in the curry and cover them tightly with the lid. Simmer for 1 hour. Do keep checking time and again so that water doesn’t dry.
10. Remove from flame when gravy becomes thick and oil separates.
11. Kashmiri Damaloo is ready to be served. Serve hot.
