Gobi Masala Recipe
Gobi masala is a rich cauliflower preparation. It is prepared with cashew nut paste and the traditional Indian spices and condiments. Gobhi masala is certainly a cauliflower (gobi ) recipe with a difference. We provide you with easy steps to prepare delicious Masala Gobi(cauliflower) within minutes.
Ingredients for making masala Gobi:
• 1 large cauliflower
• 2 tomatoes chopped finely
• 2 large onions chopped finely
• 1 tbsp poppy seeds
• 1 tbsp cashewnuts broken into pieces
• ½ tsp cumin powder
• 10 gms ginger
• 6 flakes garlic
• 2 green chillies
• ½ tsp turmeric powder
• ½ tsp red chilly powder
• 1 tbsp coriander powder
• 1 large tablespoon curd (beaten)
• Onion rings, lemon ridges & coriander leaves for garnishing
How to prepare masala gobhi (cauliflower):
1. Boil some water and add 2 tsp salt in it. Boil cauliflower in it. Drain it and keep it aside.
2. Take a mixer and put cashew, water and poppy seeds in it. Grind it to form a paste. Also grind green chilies, ginger and garlic to form a paste.
3. Take a kadhai and heat oil in it to fry onions. Fry till onions become golden brown. Then add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, cumin, tomatoes and chilli powder. Add water and cook till tomatoes RE PULPY.
4. Now add curd to it and fry till it is blended well and oil separates. Stir for few times.
5. Now add cauliflower to it and fry for 3 minutes. Do the same on other side to make a coating of masala ending with the stump side down.
6. Cover tightly with a lid and cook for 2 minutes on high flame. After 2 minutes cook on low flame till cauliflower is done.
7. Add water and cashew paste to make the gravy. Remove it from heat and place it in a serving dish. Pour masala over it.
8. Masala Gobi is ready to be served. Serve hot.
