Aloo Shimla Mirch is a dish prepared with sauteed Potatoes and peppers. Aloo Shimla Mirch can be hadwith parathas, rotis or naan. Try out the following steps that will help you prepare this Aloo Simla Mirch with ease.
Ingredients for preparing Aaloo Shimla mirch:
- 225 grams tomatoes, finely chopped (1/2 pound)
- 7 tbsp cooking oil
- 900 grams potatoes, finely chopped (2 pounds)
- 2 small onions, finely chopped
- 350 grams seeded green peppers (3/4 pound)
- ½ tsp fenugreek seeds
- 1 tsp haldi
- 1 tsp white cumin seeds
- 1 tsp crushed garlic
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- ½ cup fresh coriander, finely chopped
- salt to taste
How to prepare Aloo Simla Mirch :
- Take a saucepan and heat oil in it. Fry onions in it till they become brown.
- When they are golden put the fenugreek and cumin seeds and stir until they turn a shade or too dark.
- Add turmeric(haldi), red chilli powder, garlic and salt. Stir well and cook for another few minutes.
- Take a covered pan and heat chopped potatoes and green peppers on slow flame.
- After 5 minutes add tomatoes and cook till both potatoes and peppers become tender.
- Aloo Simla Mirch is ready to be served. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
