Aloo Palak is a dish which is made combined with spinach. The end result that you get is the nutritious, mouth licking and healthy dish. Now, it’s time to taste the yummy Aloo Palak with chapattis or paratthas…

Ingredients :

·         2 potatoes, boiled and peeled

·         3 cups chopped spinach

·         2 large onions, chopped

·         ½ tsp wheat flour

·         1 tomato, grated

·         1 tsp red chilli powder

·         2 green chillies

·         1″ piece ginger

·         1 tsp lemon juice

·         ¼ tsp turmeric powder

·         ½ tsp cumin seeds

·         1 tsp cinnamon-clove powder

·         Salt to taste

·         2 pinches asafoetida

·         ½ tsp garam masala

·         ½ tbsp butter

·         4 tbsp ghee

How To Prepare Aloo Palak :

1.    Wash the spinach and put it in a pan. Add  little water and a pinch of salt to the pan.

 

2.    Cover the pan with a lid and cook on a high flame for 2 minutes or bring it to boil.

 

3.    Hold the spinach under running water in a colander to cool it quickly.

 

4.    Grind spinach along with green chilli in a grinder for a minute. Do not make it smooth, keep it slightly coarse. Keep the mixture aside.

 

5.    Take the potatoes and cut them into big pieces. Take a kadhai and  heat ghee in it to fry potatoes. Fry till they become light brown. Drain the potatoes and keep them aside.

 

6.    Add cumin seeds to the same hot ghee. Also add onions and ginger. Fry till thye become very tender.

 

7.    Add tomatoes to it and fry for two minutes.

 

8.    Then add all the spices and keep cooking till ghee separates. Then add spinach and potatoes. Cook till it resumes a boil. Sprinkle flour on it and stir well. Boil for another 2-3 minutes. Also add lemon juice.

 

9.    Palak Aloo is ready. Before serving, take a tiny saucepan and heat butter in it. Add asafoetida to it. Pour the mixture on the vegetable and mix gently.
