Bathua Raita
Bathua Raita (also called raitha) is one of the various types of raitas (condiment) quite popular in India. Bathua Raita is based on yogurt (dahi) and used as a sauce or dip. The mixture is usually served chilled. Bathue ka raita has a cooling effect on the palate and it goes well with spicy Indian dishes such as kebabs, biryani and pulav. Here is an easy bathue ka raita recipe.
Ingredients for preparing Bathue Raita
- 1 Cup curd
- ½ Cup bathua (boiled and mashed)
- Red chili powder to taste
- 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
- Salt to taste
- 1-2 green chilli
- Finely Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
Method to prepare Bathue ka raita
1. Stir the curd with the help of hand mixer.
2. Now make the paste of bathua with the help of mixer grinder, add this paste in curd and mix well.
3. If it becomes thick add little milk and mix it.
4. Now add cumin powder, salt, green chilli and red chili powder, mix well.
5. Garnish the curd with coriander leaves. Keep in refrigerator for an hour.
6. Serve chilled bathue raita with rice or parathas.
