Paneer Makhanwala

Paneer Makhanwala is a north Indian dish made with Paneer (Indian cottage cheese) cooked in rich creamy tomato gravy. As all ingredients are sautéed in butter so it is called Paneer makkhanwala. It is very tasty and finger licking recipe. Try this easy to make recipe of paneer makhanwala! 

Ingredients for making Paneer Makhanwala:

  • 250 gms paneer
  • 200 gms fresh cream ( malai )
  • 200 gms tomato puree ( tamatar ka ras )
  • 2-3 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp fenugreek leaves ( methi ke patte )
  • ½ tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 2-3 green chilies
  • Salt as per taste 

How to make Paneer Makhanwala:

  1. First of all melt butter in a pan, add slit green chili, kasuri methi, salt, red chili and tomato puree and simmer for 4-5 minutes.
  2. Then add the cream and garam masala powder and cook further for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Now add paneer pieces and cook for a minute.
  4. At the end serve hot garnished with coriander.
