Palak Paneer Recipe

Palak Paneer is a classic subzi (vegetable dish) that stimulates your digestion and delight your dinner guests. Palak Paneer is also high in protein, calcium, and carotenes–and, hence, a vital component of a healthy vegetarian diet. Paneer is rich in protein, vitamin B12, and calcium–and easier to digest than other cheeses while palak/spinach is rich in iron and other nutrients. Here is an easy recipe to help you to learn how to make palak paneer.
Ingredients for making Palak / Spinach Paneer:
- 500 gms fresh palak (saag)
- 100 gms paneer
- 2 onions grated ginger, garlic paste
- 5-6 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp pure ghee
- Garam masala to taste
- Red chili powder to taste
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- Salt to taste
How to make Palak / Spinach Paneer:
- First of all clean and wash palak (spinach) nicely
- Then boil the spinach in water and cool it
- Now mash it in a mixer
- Then Heat oil in a kadai. Add ginger-garlic paste and stir-fry for a minute.
- Now add onion and fry till golden brown.
- Then add all spices except red chili.
- Now add spinach (palak) and little water if needed and cook for 4-5 minutes.
- Then cut paneer into pieces (paneer can be fried to golden brown in a separate pan or can be used as it is)
- Then add paneer pieces to the gravy and cook until done.
- Now take out in a bowl.
- And just before serving, heat pure ghee in a small pan.
- Now hold the pan on the bowl, add chili powder and immediately pour on the Indian palak paneer.
- Caution: Don’t allow chili powder to burn.
