Matar Paneer Recipe

Matar Paneer is a North Indian curry made with mutter (peas) and paneer (cottage cheese). Mattar paneer not a daily kind of dish and is eaten on special occasions. Mutter paneer may be one of the most frequently ordered Indian dishes. Here is an easy recipe to help you prepare Mattar paneer.

Ingredients for making Matar paneer:

• 1 packet paneer
• ½ cup light cream
• Handful of broken cashews
• 2 cups frozen peas
• 1 tsp masala powder
• 2 tbsp tomato paste
• 2 red onions
• red chili powder
• Some cumin
• Salt to taste
• Chopped Cilantro
• 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
• 1 tbsp khus-khus
• 3 elaichis
• Chopped coriander

How To Prepare Malai Matar Paneer :

1. Take a food processor and grind tomato paste, onions,ginger, garlic, khus khus, masala powder, red chilli powder and elaichi to form a paste.

2. Take a saucepan and heat 3 tbsp of oil in it. When the oil is hot add cumin to it. Fry for few seconds and add the paste to it.

3. Cook for about 10 minutes or till the water evaporates. Stir few times to avoid burning. Now add peas to it and cover it with a lid.Cook for around 5 minutes.

4. Take the paneer and cut it in 1 inch cubes. Take a separate pan and add little ghee in it. When the ghee is hot fry the cashew nuts in it.

5. Add cream to the saucepan and cook it for 15 minutes.

6. Now add cashew nuts, salt, paneer and chopped cilantro. Mix well and stir it. Cook till done

7. Malai Matter Paneer is ready to be served. Garnish with coriander leaves before serving.
