Mutton Vindaloo

Mutton Vandaloo is an all time favourite dish and popular throughout India in general and Bengal in particular. Mutton Vindaloo is traditionally cooked with pork or duck, but mutton vandaloo also makes a delicious food.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kg Mutton
  • 2 Onion
  • Ginger Small Piece
  • 2 Tomato
  • 4 pods Garlic
  • 4 green chillies
  • Mustard, little
  • 1/2 tbsp Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp vinegar (as per likes)
  • Salt to taste

How To Prepare Mutton Vindaloo:

1.    Take mutton and wash it thoroughly. Soak mutton in little vinegar for 10 minutes.

2.    Take a mixer and grind 1 onion, 1 tomato, 3 pods of garlic, ginger small piece and mustard into a thick paste and keep aside.

3.     Take a Kadhai and heat ghee in it to fry the remaining onion. Also add turmeric powder and chili powder and fry well.

4.    Add tomatoes to it and fry till oil ghee separates. Now add masalas and fry well stirring for few times.

5.    Now add the soaked mutton in this and fry well.

6.    Add water and cook mutton till it becomes tender. Once the mutton becomes tender add cumin seeds to it.

7.    Slow down the flame and cook for few minutes. When fully cooked, add vinegar and remove from flame immediately.

8.    Mutton Vandaloo is ready to be served.
