Puri or poori is a popular South Asian dish. Puri/Poori is unleavened bread prepared in many South Asian countries including India, Pakistan & Bangladesh. Puri is eatenin breakfast, as a snack or light meal but most commonly served at breakfast. It is also served at special or ceremonial functions. Puris/Pooris also form part of food offered in prayer as prasad or prasadam. Here is an easy recipe to help you prepare Puri.

Ingredients for making Puri:
• Wheat flour
• asafoetida water
• oil or ghee for frying
• 2 tsp sugar
• salt to taste

How To Prepare Puri:
1. In order to make puri dough needs to be prepared. To make dough mix sufficient quantity of wheat, 1 tsp ghee,1tsp salt and ½ cup water properly.
2. Knead it properly and divide the dough in medium sized balls.
3. Take wheat flour and dust the balls in it and roll them on a wooden board in shape of puris.
4. Take a kadhai and heat oil or ghee in it for frying. Deep fry them in oil.
5. Puris are ready to be served. Serve hot with nimbu ka achar or aloo ki sabji.
