Palak Paratha

Palak paratha is one of the favourite Indian stuffed paranthas. Stuffed Parathas are quite popular because of the varied aromatic flavors. Palak paratha has high nutrition value, as palak (spinach) is a great source of iron. Palak paranthas taste great with yogurt (dahi) and Aam Ka Achaar (mango pickle) or any other pickle. Here is an easy recipe to help you learn how to make Palak Paratha.

 

Ingredients for preparing Palak Paratha

 

•           1 cup Spinach (palak), finely chopped and steamed

•           2 cups Whole Wheat Flour

•           Salt to taste

•           1/4th tsp. chili powder or black pepper powder

•           Oil / butter to shallow fry

•           1tbsp. oil

 

How to prepare Palak Paratha

 

1.         Drain the water from the steamed spinach and cool it to room temperature.

2.         Mix the spinach (palak) in the four, and then add cumin seeds, salt, chili powder, and 1 tbsp. oil in it.

3.         Gradually add water to make soft and smooth dough.

4.         Cover it with a moist musclin cloth and keep aside for 30 minutes.

5.         Divide the dough, by making round balls from it.

6.         Now roll the balls into a circle of appox. 5 to 6 ” diameter like parathas.
