Chapati Recipe
Chapati is the Indian daily bread also called roti. Chapati usually forms a part of lunch and dinner. Chapatti or roti is made of finely milled whole-wheat flour and water. Chapatti is a popular flatbread item in India. Indian Chapati can be made very easily and is the perfect compliment to curries. Learn how to make chapati by following this easy recipe.
Ingredients for making chapati
• 2 cups Wheat Flour (Gehun Ka Atta)
• Water as per requirement
How to prepare chapati
1. Put the wheat flour in a bowl and Knead, making soft dough.
2. Cover the dough with a cloth and keep it aside for 15-20 minutes.
3. Divide the dough, by making small round balls from it.
4. With the help of roller (bailan), pastry board (chakla) and dry flour, roll them into thin rounds of about 5-6″ in diameter.
5. Heat tawa and place the rolled chapatti on it.
6. When dry on one side, turn it.
7. When brown spots appear on second side, turn again.
8. Use a kitchen towel and lightly press the Chapatti, rotating at same time, it will puff.
9. Serve hot with curries.
