Spicy Carrot Cake Recipe

When we say ‘Cake’ we generally mean something creamy and sweet. Have spicy-carrot-cakeyou ever tried a cake that  is spicy. Ingredients :
•    Salad oil – 1 ½ cups, refined groundnut oil can be used alternatively
•    Powdered sugar – 1 ¼ cups
•    Egg yolks – 4
•    Hot water – 8 tbsp
•    Flour – 2 ½ cups
•    Baking powder – 1 ½ tsp
•    Baking soda – 1 ½ tsp
•    Salt – ¼ tsp
•    Cinnamon powder- 1 tsp
•    Ground cloves – 1 tsp
•    English carrots – 1 ½ cups grated
•    Chopped walnuts – 1 cup
•    Egg whites – 4
•    Sugar – ¾ cup
•    Icing sugar – for garnishing
Method for preparing Spicy Carrot Cake:
1.    To make spicy carrot cake first beat salad oil along with powdered sugar, hot water and egg yolk. Make sure to blend the mixture well.

2.    Take another bowl and sift flour with baking soda, baking powder, ground cloves, cinnamon powder and salt.

3.    Now add this flour mixture to the sugar mixture. Now add carrots and walnuts. Mix well. Keep aside.

4.    Take egg whites and beat it. Add sugar to it and beat it till it looks glossy. Fold this into carrot mixture.

5.    Take two 8” ring moulds. Grease and flour it. Pour cake mixture in it and bake them for 25 minutes at 180 degree C.

6.    Turn out and dust it with icing sugar. Spicy Carrot Cake is ready to be served.
